- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup milk

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two cake pans.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Alternate adding the flour mixture and milk to the butter and egg mixture, starting and ending with flour.
- Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
- Divide the batter between the pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for the best results. Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting or decorating.
