Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound strip steak, sliced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup cilantro-lime rice
  • ½ cup guacamole
  • ½ cup pico de gallo
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 (8-inch) flour tortillas
  • Jalapeños or fresh peppers, sliced
  • Fresh cilantro or green onions, chopped
  • Chipotle mayonnaise or lime crema
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Create the marinade by mixing salt, black pepper, garlic, lime juice, cumin, and soy sauce in a bowl.
  2. Add the sliced steak to the marinade, ensuring it’s well coated.
  3. Let the steak marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat.
  5. Cook the marinated steak for about 5 minutes until cooked to desired doneness.
  6. Warm tortillas for about 30 seconds to make them manageable.
  7. Assemble the burrito by adding a layer of rice, then the carne asada, guacamole, pico de gallo, and cheddar cheese.
  8. Add jalapeños or fresh pepper slices and a drizzle of chipotle mayonnaise or lime crema.
  9. Roll the burrito tightly, tucking in the sides as you go.
  10. Spray the wrap with cooking spray and place seam-side down in the skillet.
  11. Cook for about 1 minute until golden and crispy on one side; flip to cook the other side.
