Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the halved strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring regularly to prevent sticking.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer, stirring occasionally.
  4. Cook until the sauce thickens, approximately 20 to 23 minutes.
  5. Turn off the heat and let the sauce cool to room temperature before serving.

Notes

Choose ripe strawberries for the best flavor. Adjust the sugar based on the sweetness of the strawberries.
